This initiative, specifically, responds to the growing interest of public and private companies in digitalisation opportunities applied to the transport sector and aims to investigate the real improvements coming from the Smart Mobility.
The community of this new Observatory includes, among others, car makers, insurance companies, telematics operators, telecommunications companies and institutions, creating a cutting-edge sharing expertise space.
The “Smart & Connected Car” Observatory therefore aims to integrate technological and managerial perspectives in an evolving context where possible applications, real benefits to society and the expected evolution still need to be cleared.
In detail, the 2019-2020 research activity will aim to analyse:
• the state-of-the-art in Italy, making a comparison with the international scenario;
• the main developments in terms of V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) / I2V (Infrastructure-to-Vehicle) solutions;
• emerging business models;
• possible strategies to enhance the usage of collected data from connected vehicles.
At the end of the Observatory, SINELEC will share its contribution along with collected data, feeling confident that a cross-disciplinary discussion can provide interesting insights for the development of new technological solutions at operators and citizens service.
